Lesley Pattenden BSc[Hons.] MCSP

Lesley graduated from Bristol school of Physiotherapy in 1983 and has worked predominantly in musculoskeletal medicine, both privately and in the NHS, ever since. She has post graduate qualifications in hydrotherapy, manual therapy and teaching and her Acupuncture experience began in 1992 after completing an introductory course. Since then, her interest in all aspects of this fascinating modality has expanded. Lesley completed a BSc [Hons.] in 2001 with a dissertation component entitled "Perceptions of risk and adverse events of Acupuncture" and she has presented this work at various conferences. Lesley now has a post-graduate diploma in Acupuncture and she is nearing completion of an MSc in Acupuncture.

Currently, Lesley works part-time in an Acute Trust (Weston Area Health Trust) and a Primary Care Trust and represents Alied Health Professionals on several committees within these. She is also a Director on the Board of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists [AACP] and represents the group within the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy [CSP]. As an Approved Acupuncture tutor for Physiotherapists, she teaches regularly all over the country. Through teaching, her aim is to promote clinical reasoning within Acupuncture and integration of Acupuncture into physiotherapy practice in an ever-changing health care system.
