First Aid & Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation Training for Practitioners

Background

This fun and hands-on practical emergency first aid at work course, will provide you with a first aid certificate fully recognised and valid for three years.

Aims

To enable students to:-

• Identify and safely manage a number of emergency first aid situations
• Get help and give adequate and competent First Aid to a casualty in the workplace following an injury or illness, using material to hand and using approved first aid equipment
• Develop a number of approaches to promote recovery in appropriate emergency first aid situations

Objectives

On completion of the training, students should be able to;

• Understand the role of the first aider
• Understand the importance of basic hygiene
• Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely promptly and efficiently in an emergency
• Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious and / or in seizure
• Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation
• Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded, bleeding and / or in shock
• Administer first aid to a casualty who is choking
• Provide first aid for minor injuries
